Our current consultancy portfolio includes projects throughout the region, and our specialist services are utilized by the most prestigious marina destinations to have been developed in recent times.

Alan Pickering
Managing Director               
Alan is a professional and Yachtmaster and has extensive experience in the field of international yacht sales, yacht charter worldwide, yacht maintenance and yacht management. He comes from a civil and marine engineering background, and has comprehensive knowledge of modern marina design and management, gained through his worldwide involvement, as both an operator and consultant, within the international yachting scene. Alan bought his first boat in 1978 after completing his engineering diploma in England in 1974.
During the 1990s Alan oversaw the design and construction of a number of large yacht projects for several clients as part of his general consultancy services. In 2000 he co-founded Simpson Marine Pte Ltd as a Director and Shareholder for eight years.
Alan established ProMarine Yacht Sales Pte Ltd as a leader in the fields of yacht sales, yacht charter, yacht support, yacht management and marina design and development.
Mike Willie
Director of Operations     
As a qualified commercial Yachtmaster (up to 200GRT) of both power and sail, Mike captained many prestigious charter yachts over the years and it is this added experience that makes him well aware of the high standards expected by owners, captains and crew in terms of first class marina facilities and services.

Mike project managed a variety of marinas-in-build, as well as becoming the operating manager of a number of prestigious marinas in the region including general manager at the Royal Langkawi Yacht Club for three years, manager of the Republic of Singapore Yacht Club and marina manager of Sutera Harbour Marina in Borneo. Mike knows the intricacies of marina development and  understands that establishing and promoting first class marinas, getting them on the cruising charts to draw in both resident and visiting yachts - is essencial to the financial success of every marina development.
Simon Wood
Sales & Marketing Director    
Simon is performance-driven, entrepreneurial professional, who has travelled and worked extensively over 82 countries with 34 years in continuous advancement and expertise in international businesses, property management, tourism, retail, sales and marketing, along with history of developing brand strategies. Simon is a skilled coalition - builder with multicultural experience throughout extensive Asian, European and Australian markets.
Simon has managed marketing-positioning efforts and lead brand - development initiatives that differentiate company's products & services, ensuring compelling value propositions and create detailed go to market plans, that deliver value to the market in providing new business opportunities. Along with his Military background, Simon over the years has been involved with Military Adventure Training, Swimming Instructor, Life Long learning Teacher, Team Medic, Day Skipper, Competent Crew and others to name around the world in participation in a combination of practical training where a lot of his Sailling knowledge was obtained.
Bob Ashman 
Associate Director
Bob has an Electrical Engineering background.  He has traveled extensively during his career and has worked in Africa, Canada and the UK before setting up home in Singapore in 1990.  He has been involved in competitive sailing for many years and as a former Commodore of Lagos Yacht Club and Changi Sailing Club, he continues to play an active role in organizing and participating regattas and other sailing events in the region.  Bob served for several years as Chairman of the Straits Regatta organising committee.
Tom Curtis
Project Engineer Manager  
Tom Curtis is a Project Manager with more than 40 years of broad experience in design, construction, management and marketing of engineering projects, including over 30 years in South East Asia.

                                    Following an early career in bridge design and construction in Australia and Malaysia, Mr. Curtis specialised in marine and harbour engineering projects in Canada and South East Asia. He has been directly responsible for the planning and management of a variety of marine oriented projects including offshore structures, coal terminals, container terminals, general cargo, and barge transportation systems.  In particular, he was the manager responsible for the design and construction of the marine facilities for Kaltim Prima Coal (BP-CRA) in East Kalimantan, and two container terminals for the Indonesian Port Corporation in Surabaya, East Java.
                                    Later his career expanded to providing engineering management for major mining projects in Indonesia, including a full feasibility study for the 7 MTPA Maruwai coal development in Kalimantan for BHP Billiton, a pre-feasibility study for a 40 MTPA coal mining, transportation and port project in South Sumatra and Bengkulu and a feasibility study for a similar 34 MTPA coal development in East Kalimantan.

                                    More recently Mr. Curtis was a team member of the Special Advisory Group to the Indonesia Port Corporation for the delivery of New Priok, the new $2½ billion hub port in Jakarta, and is currently providing marine expertise for IPC’s Eastern Ports Project.
